Hitbullegend has been getting hits and saving careers for most of the decade so far, but he hasn't scored a Top 10 hit since "Time of Our Lives" over two years ago (the only one from that album). His latest album has flopped hard. The first two singles, "Messin' Around" and "Greenlight", only performed moderately, while the third single, "Options", didn't even chart. He used to be a consistent featured artist as well, but hasn't had an at least moderately successful feature since Austin Mahone's "Mmm Yeah" three years ago.
Every time we see him flop, he seems to just keep coming back, but is he done for good this time?

The industry has changed a lot since "Time Of Our Lives" and Pitbull isn't really the kind of artist that can easily adjust. Current Hot 100 trends are as far from standard Pitbull stuff as possible. There are few upbeat party songs on Hot 100 right now. But you never know, the industry is unpredictable, maybe he will make a song with Chainsmokers or Bieber or whatever and have a comeback, I don't know.

'Options' is actually Top 10 in New Zealand right now (#3 peak) so maybe it might take over on the US soon? But probably not - and hopefully so because I think his carreer is finally dead. He also never was an A-star on my list.

He was the happiest guy in music though. No one laughs as much as he does on his songs. I'm sure he's still happy.

I think his career is pretty much over. He was a great rapper and had some great singles like Give Me Everything, Feel This Moment, Fireball, Time of our Lives, Drive You Crazy, Messin Around, etc.

If Flo Rida could get a big hit in 2016, why can't Hitbullegend in these days?
I do agree that his general uptempo party vibe isn't in with chr at this moment, but that won't last, it'll eventually swing in a more uptempo direction again, and who's to say that he can't capitalize then?

I think that he'll be replaced with a newer version of him; someone often getting feautered on hits, a terrible, happy rapper, that doesn't save careers, but starts them; Lil Yachty.

This is not a good comparison Pitbull was mostly a non-explicit family friendly PG-13 rapper with energy, laughing a lot, every song he's on was upbeat. Lil Yachty is much more like most of current rappers both in style and lyrically, he mostly mumbles and brags about your standard "money and bitches". Pitbull was always closer to pop than rap and because of that it was easier for him to stand out and he was a big presence. Lil Yachty doesn't have that presence and mostly blends in with other rappers, he's really not that far from say Lil Uzi Vert, while Pitbull was more of a rarity as he didn't resemble either current rappers or current pop stars, and this might have been the thing that made him this noticable and succesful. Lil Yachty is not that noticable and distinguishable in the context of other artists. But it is often easier for less distinguishable artists to survive changing trends as they can pass under the radar, while big and noticable presence like Pitbull gets obnoxious with time and after couple of years the general public starts rejecting it.

He may not be pumping out the hits like a couple years ago but I'm sure he's still rolling in the money from his live performances.

I have a feeling he has at least one more herpes-like outbreak to inflict upon us mini-success left in him. He was never much of an album seller (only two out of ten albums have gone gold) so that's not really anything new. It's just that this particular moment in pop music is not the wave for his style (somewhat ironic - you'd think he would have been all over the trop-house vibe).
I still miss the kinda sketchy, pre-Give Me Everything Pitbull. After GME blew up he got all sanitized (save for the bulge lol) and basically started churning out weak pop-bait clones that lacked flavor.

Well, maybe Kyle then, if you remove the swearing? That, unlike Yachty, would actually be a good thing. You know, he just wants to play Assassins Creed and Watch his HBO shows in peace.

While he's probably peaked, I could easily see him getting another hit.

Probably well past his peak in terms of radio hit singles, but I wouldn't write him off yet. In addition to making hits, though, he also managed to establish himself as a distinctive personality with mass recognition, so he might well continue to be prominent on TV and such and have successful tours and performances even if the radio hit parade never restarts.

I wouldn't write him off just yet. He has undergone multiple transformations and with latin music on the brink of making a comeback, the opening is ripe for him to return to his roots and conquer again.
And let's not forget that Messing Around still performed better on the charts compared to singles from A list music superstars.

I have liked a few of his singles here and there. It's too bad he's not doing as well lately because I would have loved to have the new songs he did with Kiesza, Leona Lewis, and Jennifer Lopez from his latest album be singles. The Leona one has to be released somehow.

Pitbull is going to become a relic of '2010s nostalgia' in future years, mark my words. As for right now, he's still popular in the meme industry. Music industry? Not so much.

I've generally found his music to be enjoyable for what it is. He's carried the pop-rap torch from artists like Tone Loc, Young MC, Hammer, Sir Mix-A-Lot, and Will Smith, and has done it well. He may not be a brilliant lyricist, but he brings a lot more personality and charm to his music than Flo Rida, who has to rely completely on hooks. That said, "Messin' Around" was an awful re-interpretation of what I already thought was a pretty bad song, so if that's the best he can come up with then he might be done. I personally wouldn't mind him going back to doing stuff like "I Know You Want Me" and "Hotel Room Service".
